Oil of Dog

Oil of Dog - Gary StormI came across a wonderful web page today. I don’t even remember what it was I was looking for when I found it, because I’ve spent the past several hours reading it and I haven’t even scratched the surface.

It’s former Buffalo Disc Jockey, Radio Announcer, Gary Storm’s page. You may remember his night-shift show Oil of Dog. He’s put up a lot of his writings about his experiences in the radio/music industry in the ’70s through late ’80s - basically a journal kept at that time. Short on words?

You might have noticed, the blog postings about the 2 Songs podcasts are a bit sparse. That’s by design.

I’d really rather you listen to them, than read about them. So all I’m usually putting in them is the names of the two songs, some links (which don’t work in MP3s) and maybe a photo to catch your eye.

Don’t be scared, they’re short. Play ‘em in your browser, or download them to listen to later or put ‘em in your MP3 player.

When it rains, it pours, or in Buffalo, snows a flurry of activity

Okay, all in one day, another podcast in my 2 Songs series, 2 videos and a post on another Buffalo podcast. What is up? Well, it’s just luck. I hadn’t planned it, but I spent the day cleaning junk off this laptop so it would run a bit better, but while I was on it, I kept finding things. Thanks to some tips I received in email and on a message board it’s been busy. Read the rest of this entry »

Dave G. brings you the Dr. Know Show podcast

I just came across another podcast coming out of Buffalo and it’s one extremely cool show!

It’s Dave G.’s Dr. Know Show and it features music from Dave’s extensive collection of vinyl. This is exactly the sort of show that got me listening to podcast originally. Read the rest of this entry »
