Call for Holiday Music
I’ve been doing this podcast for two years now (That’s right, Podcast #1 with the Flyin’ Blind Blues Band was recorded within days of Thanksgiving 2005) and each year, I’ve put out a Christmas Podcast.
In the past, I’ve used podsafe music for those shows, but this year, I’d dearly love to do an all-local holiday podcast featuring our own musicians. So, I’m requesting submissions…
There is only one rule: the musician/band should have some connection to Western New York. I’ll stretch the rule to the limit - anyone who once lived here, near here, or any stretch of the imagination makes them a WNY favorite. And it must be December holiday music, something to do with Christmas, New Years, Hanukkah, whatever. Once again, I’ll stretch the rule to the breaking point if you’ll just contribute something!
Songs can be emailed in MP3 form to me (
) or CDs mailed to P. O. Box 730, Lockport NY 14095.
I know there was one or two Christmas compilation CDs in the local area in the past. If you have one I could borrow, use the above methods as well.
And of course, my podcast is all about LIVE MUSIC. If you are doing a holiday show and plan to put a few holiday songs into the setlist, let me know. If I can, I and my trusty microphone will try to be there and catch it, if you just let me know.
