Podcast 70 - The Dustmen

The DustmenAfter two years of promises, I finally got together with The Dustmen to do a podcast.

I’ve known Russ and Brian since before they formed The Dustmen. We all were fans of the former celtic band Kilbrannan and used to all be at the same shows. In fact, encouragement from Kirk McWhorter of Kilbrannan and now Penny Whiskey, was one of the things that got The Dustmen started.

Of course, we discuss some of the history of The Dustmen in the interview portion of the show.

The Dustmen are a Celtic-Folk band that plays a mix of traditional Irish, Folk, and original songs. Russ’ banjo give them a distinctive sound that not many other celtic bands have. Along with that there is Liz’s fiddle playing and Brian’s guitar and vocals to fill out the sound. Drummer Harry has just the right touch to keep the beat without overpowering the rest of the band.

The Dustmen are:
Russ Scinta - banjo, guitar, vocals
Liz Scinta - violin/fiddle, guitar and occasionally drums!
Brian Quigley - guitar, pipes/whistles, vocals
Harry Linton - drums
