We’re back

It looks as if things are back up and running.

No word at all from the hosting company as to what happened, but I have a feeling I was just one of many people with problems. Things came back and started working today and I set the domain back to the server. I hope nothing was lost.

I just hate not knowing, though. The least they could do is send an email out to let us know they have it under control. I know equipment fails sometimes. That’s forgivable, but poor communications isn’t.

    Talking about poor communications… the first response from the hosting company I got was a survey to see how they did.

    Of course, I complained bitterly about their lack of communicating what was going on.

    Then days later, the emails came trickling in - responses to my trouble tickets.

    Funny that the survey got to me before the actual communications.

    Final word on the problem - “our administrators are having a file system check on the servers where your domains are hosted.” Sounds like they had to restore the server from backups, possibly after a hard drive failure.
