Buffalo Live! Music Podcast - 2 Songs From Buffalo

I finally got back into the swing of things and got out to the Mohawk last Saturday to record a podcast with two groups - Flatbed and Red & Roxy. I apologize for my absence from the podcast world last week. I had to be out of town for two successive weekends, which makes it had to keep a podcast in the works.

But this should more than make up for it. Flatbed is a band that I liked from the first listen. I was introduced to them through Dee Adams when her band opened for them at Merlin’s a while ago (Michael Tinsmon, the bass player is also in the Housecats.) I liked what I heard and I hope you will too. They are “Americana” country-rock with blues and jazz influences and a totally unique signature sound. Read the rest of this entry »

I apologize for the delay. I have been out of town for two weekends in a row and just couldn’t get out to any shows. But I made up for it this past weekend. I have two great bands ‘on tape’ and podcasts will be out real soon.

Here it is, just in time for St. Paddy’s Day!

Greenwich Meantime is a new group of musicians on the Celtic music scene. Four of them were former members of the Glengarry Bhoys and the others have been associated with groups like Haggis, Hadrians Wall and the Barstool Prophets. While their music is hard to pin down to any single genre, they rely heavily on traditional Celtic instruments like pipes, flutes, whistles and fiddle. I think the best description of them is Modern Celtic.

Wow, I checked my stats today and we’re growing in leaps and bounds. In less than 24 hours (like before anyone not subscribed knows it’s there) the Breakerbox podcast has been downloaded 44 times! That’s not setting the world on fire, especially by Adam Curry standards, but not bad for a young niche market podcast.
