Bring It Back To Life

The kickoff CD Release party for the Bring It Back To Life benefit CD is tonight was Jan 20 7pm until ? at Club Infinity, 8166 Main St. Williamsville. (Just around the corner from Eastern Hills Mall)Besides the fact that this is a great cause, benefitting the restoration of the Buffalo Central Terminal, it’s gonna be a killer good time.

Bands from the CD are playing, including The Filter Kings, The Feast, McCarthyizm, Breakerbox, and No Effect.

You met The Feast in one of my early podcasts. Come see them live!

McCarthyizm is one of my favorite Buffalo bands, and I hope to be working on a podcast with them there.

Breakerbox is one of the hottest new rock bands around. I’m looking forward to hearing them.

No Effect is a “Power Folk” trio that’s as smooth and cool as it gets. What is Power Folk? I’m not sure myself, but I’m sure gonna ask them if I get the chance!

And last, but not least, The Filter Kings defy description – country? blues? rock? Yes. With the 2001 Second Place North American Rock Guitar Competition winner in charge, they’re worth the trip alone.

So, come out and help a good cause and hear some geat local music!

You can order the Bring It Back To Life CD online here.

I just got back form the benefit at Club Infinity. It was a great show. A bit sparsely attended, which is a shame because not just is it a great cause, but a beautiful venue to see a band. Highlights of the show were (for me):

Breakerbox – This band is all everyone is saying and more. Powerful, driving rock, plus the lead singer, Christina Reilly just oozes charisma and raw sexxy attitude. She should go far.

McCarthyizm – They were absolutely gracious in giving me a great interview. They will be featured in my next podcast, watch for it!

Tina Peel – DJ from WLKK 107.7 took a few minutes to talk to me about The Lake and how it supports local music. It was a pleasure to talk to her and hear about a broadcast radio station that still “gets it” when it comes to treating their listeners with some respect. I’ll put the interview in the podcast.

The Feast – Wow! I did the podcast with them a while ago preparing for the Bring It Back To Life CD but hearing them play live was great. They have it all together as a band.

The Filter Kings – They closed the night out with a bang. This is one good band. Hard to believe it’s a three-piece! Every member is a virtuoso!
