Podcast #6: Jackdaw
Show Notes for Podcast #6 Featuring Jackdaw at the Swannie House, Buffalo NY recorded December 30, 2005.
We saw 2005 out in style with a New Year’s Eve Eve party at the Swannie House in the cobblestone District of Buffalo. The bar isn’t much bigger than your living room, yet we seemed to squeeze a couple hundred Jackdaw fans in there to hear the band play their music Swannie style – minimal amplification, just a small PA and practice amps. It was more than enough for the room!
I’ve seen them play there several times before and it’s always a good time. This night was no exception. Sound was a challenge. I’ll not promise that you’ll mistake this for anything like a quality recording, but I hope more that you can get the feel of the live shows Jackdaw puts on. They are what keeps their fans coming back over and over again. I talk to one couple who have been to literally hundreds of Jackdaw shows. Now that’s dedicated fans!

hey doc. i’m away from my computer and just looking to send you a message. the boys and i are thinking about putting together a best of jackdaw compilation cd and wouldn’t mind putting some live tracks on there. is there any chance we could get a full copy of the swannie show you taped? we’re not sure what might work yet, but we definitely thought your podcast was great. if you can drop me a response at damoore@brokencans.com that’d be great. thanks.
